Board of Commissioners
The NCCAOM is governed by the Chief Executive Officer and ten Commissioners who are voted into office by general election. In approving nominations, the Nominating Committee considers diversity in ethnicity, gender, geographic distribution, professional experience, education and school of thought within the profession. |

Susan A.
Chapman, Ph.D., R.N. joined the NCCAOM® Board in
2007. She is currently Associate Professor at the
University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) in the
Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences in the School
of Nursing, Director of the Masters program in Health Policy
Nursing, and a member of the Research faculty at the Center
for the Health Professions.
Chapman received her
bachelor’s of science in nursing from the University of
Iowa, a master’s of science in nursing from Boston College,
a master’s of science in public health from Boston
University, and doctorate in health services and policy
analysis from U.C. Berkeley.
Susan currently chairs the
Commission’s Research Taskforce and is a member of the
Finance /Audit Committee, the Recertification Committee and
serves as Board Liaison to the Biomedicine Exam Development
Committee.
