Acupuncture Certification

The NCCAOM has established three routes of eligibility for certification in Acupuncture. Individuals may qualify to take the NCCAOM examinations by meeting all of the requirements specified under any one of the three routes.

 

  • Route #1: Formal Education
  • Route #2: Apprenticeship*
  • Route #3: Combination of the Formal Education Route and Apprenticeship Route
For each of these eligibility routes, as well as the documents that must be submitted at the time of application and detail information, please refer to the Candidate Handbook.

 

*As of December 31, 2010 the Apprenticeship Route for Acupuncture will be abolished as a route of eligibility.
 

Oriental Medicine Certification

The NCCAOM has established two routes of eligibility for certification in Oriental Medicine. For individuals who are not currently certified by the NCCAOM and for those who currently hold NCCAOM Diplomate status in either Acupuncture or Chinese Herbology.

Asian Bodywork Therapy Certification

The NCCAOM has established two routes of eligibility for certification in Asian Bodywork Therapy:

 

 

  • Route #1: Formal Education
  • Route #2: Apprenticeship

The NCCAOM has established three routes of eligibility for certification in Chinese Herbology:
