NCCAOM publishes contact information of practitioners who are nationally certified in Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology,and Asian Bodywork Therapy.

Individuals certified in Oriental Medicine have met requirements for board certification in both Acupuncture AND Chinese Herbology.

A search for a practitioner can be conducted via NCCAOM's Public Registry (formally the Directory of Diplomates).

Code of Ethics and Grounds for Professional Discipline - Newly Revised!

 

Trouble Finding an Ethics Course? NCCAOM introduces new online course in Ethics taught by Betsy Smith, NCCAOM Deputy Director and Michael Taromina, Esq. Chair of the NCCAOM Professional Ethics and Discipline Committee (PEDC). Approved for four (4) PDA/CEU points!

On October 14, 2008, the NCCAOM Board of Commissioners approved a newly revised Code of Ethics. The changes to the Code of Ethics were recommended by NCCAOM's Prefessional Ethics and Discipline Committee (PEDC), lead by Chair, Michael Taromina. Section A, #12, of the Code was amended to include a six month waiting period before a practitioner could engage in sexual contact with a former patient. Practitioners continue to be cautioned that a sexual relationship must not exploit the trust established during the professional relationship.

The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) is accredited for all of its certification programs including Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology, Asian Bodywork Therapy (ABT), and Oriental Medicine by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).

Earning certification from NCCAOM represents a significant professional achievement. NCCAOM certification makes an important statement about professional competence that is recognized by regulatory bodies, third-party payers, the profession, and the public.
